This Sunday sees the beginning of our annual Vision Sermon Series. Every year we take a month to think through an aspect of our St John’s vision to see our city transformed by the hope of the risen Christ. This year we’ll be taking a look at part of that statement and considering what the hope of the risen Christ really is and what it does for us.

The Apostle Paul writes:

… if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile

1 Corinthians 15:17

The resurrection of Jesus is everything for us, so over the next 5 weeks we’ll look at

  • The hope of the empty tomb
  • The hope of the unstoppable gospel
  • The hope of the risen life now
  • The hope of the risen body then
  • The hope of the inheritance to come (Vision Sunday)

Our prayer is that this will be a deeply encouraging time for our whole church family, climaxing in Celebration Sunday where we gather all our congregations together to celebrate the transformation that only hope in the risen Christ can bring!

Come with expectation this Vision Series!

Come expecting that God’s word would renew our hope in the risen Christ.

Come to hear stories of how the hope of the risen Christ has transformed St John’s church members.

Come expecting that the hope of the risen Christ would spur us all on to consider what our own part in the St John’s Vision could be.

We’re looking forward to sharing this key moment in our church life with you all.

In the hope of the risen Christ,
David Ould
