2026 has been an enormous year for us at St John’s, full of changes and uncertainty. So it’s good to stop and raise our eyes beyond our immediate experience and be reminded again of bigger things that we’re so privileged to be part of. 2027 will see the beginning of a new season in the story of what God is doing in and through St John’s. How can we each play our part in being part of this exciting moment?
Our vision to see our city transformed by the hope of the risen Christ is our own expression of God’s Global Mission. From before the Creation our great God has been gathering a people for himself in Jesus. At a time when there’s things that we can’t know for sure, here is something certain and reliable for us to focus on and renew our energy and commitment.
Over the five weeks of our vision series we’ll be reminding ourselves how
Our joyful task at St John’s is to find our own place in God’s Global Mission. As we learn more and more about God’s goodness to us in Jesus we find ourselves longing that others would also know the hope that Jesus brings.

There are so many ways to be part of St John’s Place in God’s Global Mission.
Most importantly we need to open our mouth! We call out to God in prayer to bring people from darkness to light and to raise up more workers for the harvest. We talk to others about how good Jesus is. We encourage one another in the gospel as we speak about him in our time together.
There is also a need to contribute financially. The Vision of St John’s is funded by our members’ giving. God has given his church the resources she needs for the work before us and part of the joy of Christian service is seeing what we personally have being put to use in this way.
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. — 2 Corinthians 9:7
So what’s the next step?

If you already give, thank you so much! Please take the time to prayerfully review your contribution. Does it need to change? Some of us may need to cut back a little - it’s been a tough year financially for many. But we might also see that we can gladly give more.
2027 is going to be an exciting moment for our church family at St John’s. A new Senior Minister and a new energy. It’s a great time for every one of us to reflect and decide what our part will be. Simply put we need to think about opening our mouth and our wallet! There is a part for every one of us to play as we
