Our City Youth year 12’s are drawing close to their HSC exams. And yet, even though they are diligently studying, they remain a great encouragement as they continue to engage in city youth, when many of their peers would clear the decks of anything and everything to scrape the extra marks.

We’re so grateful for their time at City Youth (and for a few more weeks with them around too!), and especially for how God has been at work amongst them as he has worked through his word and by his Spirit, and in response to the prayers of their parents, the leaders, and you, their wider church family. Thank you, and please keep praying for them as they enter this time of HSC.

By their own testimony, many of them are “going great at the moment!” Here are a few reflections on how the hope God gives in his son Jesus is helping them at this time:

“My Christian faith allows me to be reassured that God is watching and he has a plan for me and will care for me. Also reminds me that this life isn’t to be successful or get the best ATAR but it’s to live for God.”

“My Christian faith has really solidified myself and has brought me lots of comfort knowing no matter my marks, I have a loving god who doesn’t view us based on how we do in school.”

Some of our seniors have even started their own bible study to keep growing in the faith at this time!

They’ve asked that you would pray that they:

  • will be diligent in their studies
  • will remember God has full control over everything and trust his plan for them
  • can remain steadfast despite the challenges and that this will be a great witness to their peers
  • can grow even stronger in their faith at this time.
  • can continue in prayer and bible reading, especially when the motivation is not there.

Pray for our City Youth HSC Students

Give thanks for the Year 12 students at City Youth and for how God has been at work in them through his word and Spirit during this busy HSC season. Ask God for diligence in their study and perseverance in prayer and Bible reading as they trust his plan for their lives. Ask God to strengthen their faith, help them remain steadfast through challenges, and use their witness to encourage their peers to know and trust Jesus.
