At St John's, we are committed to fostering a culture of safety and care for everyone in our church family, especially the vulnerable. To achieve this, we are asking every member involved in ministry—whether paid or volunteer, with children, youth, or other vulnerable people—to complete the Safe Ministry Essentials course.

What will you learn?

  • How to identify and appoint the right leaders for ministry
  • Safe practices that protect vulnerable people
  • Recognising and responding to abuse
  • Creating a physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe space for everyone

Even if your current role doesn’t involve direct ministry to children or youth, this course is essential training for everyone. Together, we can ensure that our church is a place where God’s love and care are evident in all that we do.
