One of the great events we organise every year is our annual youth camp, now called CY Camp (July 12-15). For both the youth and the leaders, our annual youth camp is easily one of the highlights of the year. It is a jam-packed weekend of fun, fellowship and diving deep into God’s Word together.

Preparations for the camp require the hard work and dedication of our youth leadership team as well as a number of our pastoral staff. This is the time in the year when our youth deepen their friendships with one another, when they grow in their love and knowledge of God, and when they invite their non-Christian friends to find out more about Jesus. In 2023, we saw 6 teens outside of our usual St. John’s community join us to hear about the amazing good news of Jesus Christ. These 6 teens were invited by a number of our regular youth and they were able to come at no cost, due to the generosity of our St. John’s church family. This is a vital and important part of our youth ministry that requires much planning, preparation and support.

This year one of our student ministers, Simon Jones, will be teaching at CY Camp. The theme is TBA but we are all very excited for a great weekend to grow together.

But we can only put on events like CY Camp through the support and partnership of the wider St. John’s church family. Every year we endeavour to raise enough funds to cover the fees for any non-Christians friends who have been invited along, to subsidise costs for families who are feeling financial pressure and to cover the overall costs of running the camp. This Sunday we are planning to hold a bake sale to provide opportunities for members of St. John’s to give to this important ministry. This will be happening at 9.00AM, 10.45AM and 12.30PM (after each of our English morning services).

If you are able and willing to give even before this Sunday, you can CLICK HERE to do so. Under “Give to” please select “Camp Engage donation.”

Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated as we seek to see our youth transformed by the hope of the risen Christ.

Thank you all for your continued partnership and support of City Youth.

In Christ,

Jaison Jacob
Associate Minister
