Rev. Canon Bruce Morrison
In a former life Bruce worked in finance for Qantas. He committed his life to Jesus while studying economics at the University of NSW. Bruce loves to walk and canyon in the Blue Mountains where he grew up or to take his wife Michele riding on his Harley Davidson. Together they have three adult children and eight grandchildren. Apart from responsibilities for directing the parish and staff, Bruce pastors the 8am and 11am congregations.
Rev. David Ould (Senior Associate Minister)
David began at St. John’s at the beginning of 2018. He is married to Jacqui and they have 3 children, Charis, Ethan and Noah.
Rev. Ronaldo Sanchez (Associate Minister)
Ronaldo grew up in Australia and is true to his Filipino heritage. He is sensitive and enjoys power ballads. He came to know the love of his life, Jesus, in 2001. The relationship with him gets better and better. Ronaldo would love to see the many cultures of Parramatta receive the full and lasting life that only Jesus can offer. He is a die hard fan of basketball and tennis. If he had a spare 6 months, he would serve the San Antonio Spurs in order to learn leadership, team dynamics and organisational culture. Ronaldo is married to the wonderful Meghan. Their days are spent nurturing their two children, Rosita and Rafael.
Dr. Michael Safari (Persian Minister)
Michael is originally from Iran and has a PhD in Linguistics. He and his wife Ulrike were missionaries with Operation Mobilisation before coming to St John’s in 2004. The Safari’s have two boys and minister to the Persian congregations in the Farsi language. Michael is passionate about evangelism and can be found most Thursdays in the Parramatta City Mall area doing just that. He also enjoys soccer.
Rev. Ken Tang (Chinese Minister)
Ken is originally from Hong Kong. He qualified as a CPA and worked with Panasonic before deciding to go into full time ministry. He joined the staff at St John’s in 2004. Ken has responsibility for St John’s ministry to Chinese language-speaking congregations and pastoral responsibility for the Cantonese-speaking congregation. Ken is married to Joyce and together they enjoy travel to different parts of the world. Ken is passionate about discipleship training and would like to train more Christians to be mature in Christ.
Rev. Harrison Xu (Chinese Associate Minister)
Harrison is originally from China and was an opto-mechanical engineer in the space industry. From 2000-2014 Harrison worked in the electronic and computer industry in Sydney. He joined the staff at St John’s in 2018 after finishing his Theology degree. Harrison is passionate about evangelising Chinese people and has pastoral responsibility for members of three Chinese congregations. Harrison is married to Carol, and they like to play badminton and go swimming together with their two boys, Andrew and Daniel.
Ministry Support Team
Valerian (Val) D’Lima (Cathedral Verger)
Val joined the staff of St John’s in a full-time capacity in 2006. He is responsible for the day-to-day presentation of the cathedral and hall complex. Val, who came to Australia from Pakistan, is married to Dora and they have three adult children. Val enjoys relaxing on family weekends away with a bit of fishing thrown in.
Maryanne Golding (General Manager, Admin & Property)
Maryanne has a PhD in audiology and was a researcher with the National Acoustic Laboratories before joining the staff at St John’s in 2008. She is responsible for the management of property and other resources within the parish. Maryanne is married to Chris and is passionate about live theatre and her morning coffee (skim flat white with one sugar, if you’re buying).
Sandra Coady (Cathedral Administrator)
Sandra previously worked for a city engineering company for 6 years and prior to that has a background in various organisations including State, Federal and Local Government, the Recruitment Industry and various private and local hospitals.
She lives in the Blue Mountains and says she has the best breakfast view in the world coming down in the train daily. Sandra regularly attends live theatre with life-long friends and enjoys being a pillion passenger, bushwalking , reading and gardening.
Sandra says she loves her job here at St John’s working with such caring and wonderful people from all walks of life.
David Osborne (Cathedral Organist)
David has qualifications from Trinity College (London), the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMusA) and has piano teaching accreditation with Suzuki Talent Education. He has been Cathedral Organist at St John’s since 1982. He specializes in organ, choral music, and delights in teaching. David is married to Leonie and they have two adult children. David loves his family, all things musical, bible study, and God’s great gifts of living, people, nature and creation.
